Three Stars

 Ruby Wright

In May 1959 Ruby Wright's version of Three Stars hit the charts in The United Kingdom at number 28. Ruby began singing with a trio of college girls at Lake Manitou in her home state of Indiana. She was also featured on the Kathy Linden hit of 1959 "Good-bye Jimmy Good-bye".

Dick Pike is featured doing the naration on this great tribute song to Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper, the three rock and roll legends who died in an airplane crash in an Iowa cornfield in February of 1959.

Ruby's version of Three Stars got little airplay in the USA but did become a hit for her in The United Kingdom.

Ruby has a CD with a total of 27 great songs on it. It is called Ruby Wright Regular Gal (The King recordings 1949-1959)

We have received news from Ruby's Grand nephew that Ruby who turned 90 years old on January 8th 2004, passed away on March 9th 2004. Our condolences to the family.
