Eddie Cooley and The Dimples
Eddie Cooley wrote Priscilla back in 1956 and recorded it on Royal Roost Records along with three ladies called "The Dimples". We have only been able to obtain their first names, Carrolyn, Barbara, and Beverly . The song reached number 20 on the charts on November 24, 1956. Cooley also co-wrote the standard "Fever" with Otis Blackwell.
Priscilla is one of those great rock and roll songs of the fifties that sadly gets very little airplay on oldies stations due to programming managers who were not yet born during the great fifties rock and roll era and consequently have no idea of what was or was not a good song.
